About the Vendor
Accenture is a global professional services company that serves as a founding strategic partner to UNICEF's Generation Unlimited (GenU) initiative. Accenture contributes funding, expertise, and leadership — including board and Global Leadership Council roles — to co-design credentialed training programs, improve digital job platforms, and create scalable pathways connecting youth learning to earning.
About the Brand
UNICEF's Generation Unlimited (GenU) is a global multi-sector partnership led by UNICEF that brings together governments, businesses, civil society, and youth to close the gap between young people's potential and economic opportunity. Launched as a global initiative, GenU operates programs including Passport to Earning (P2E), YOMA, and imaGen Ventures to equip youth with skills, credentials, and connections to employment or entrepreneurship.
Challenge
Over the next decade, 1.2 billion youth will enter the workforce, yet 72% of employers report struggling to find skilled talent. Young people — especially in underserved communities — face barriers including limited access to quality training, recognised credentials, and platforms that connect learning to real market needs. These gaps hold back individual potential, community resilience, and economic growth.
Solution
Accenture co-designed and supported three scalable programs under GenU: (1) Passport to Earning (P2E) — digital, AI, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship training with co-curated content, rollout support, and a deployment Starter Kit; (2) YOMA — a digital marketplace connecting youth to learning, earning, and social impact opportunities, with enhanced usability; (3) imaGen Ventures — an entrepreneurship program providing funding, mentorship, and support to help youth turn ideas into sustainable businesses.
Execution
The UNICEF–Accenture partnership launched in 2021. Accenture contributed funding, expertise, and leadership roles on GenU's Board and Global Leadership Council. The team co-curated P2E content, created a broad deployment Starter Kit, enhanced the YOMA platform's usability, and provided mentorship and funding for imaGen Ventures — all designed to work for youth regardless of location or resources.
Results
Since the partnership launched in 2021, GenU's three programs have collectively reached millions of young people globally. P2E has certified 4 million youth in AI and digital skills (targeting 8 million by 2027) and is expected to support nearly 12,000 youth in finding jobs or starting businesses by 2028. YOMA has helped 61,000 users gain skills and 2,600 secure employment or start businesses, targeting 300,000 by 2027. imaGen Ventures has engaged 231,000+ youth and helped nearly 300 start or grow businesses.
